چکیده

as the millisecond increase in cycle length per mm Hg rise in systolic pressure. The slope is an index of baroreflex sensitivity and was found to have an average value of 12.8 in 18 subjects without hypertension and 2.8 in 12 others with hypertension. When all results were pooled, there was an inverse relationship between the resting mean arterial pressure and slope of the baroreflex regression lines. The findings demonstrate reduced sensitivity of the baroreflexes in hypertension, with respect to control of heart rate. A distinction is made between this change in sensitivity and simple resetting of the reflex.

Diurnal variation in the mechanical and neural components of the baroreflex.

Diminished baroreflex sensitivity in the morning negatively influences morning coronary blood flow and blood pressure control in hypertensive patients. Our aim was to determine the contribution of the mechanical and neural components of the cardiac baroreflex to diurnal variation in blood pressure control. In 12 healthy participants, we used the modified Oxford method to quantify baroreflex sen...

اثر استروژن و پروژسترون بر حساسیت بارورفلکس‌ها در شرایط حاد فشار خون در موش‌های صحرایی

Background: Epidemiological studies suggested that incidence of cardiovascular diseases in menopause women is more than their nonmenopausal period. The cardioprotective role of estrogen may be responsible for some of these effects. In the present study we evaluated the role of female sex hormones on baroreflex sensitivity in acute hypertension state of rat. Materials and Methods: This was an...

Orthostatic blood pressure changes and arterial baroreflex sensitivity in elderly subjects.

BACKGROUND orthostatic hypotension in elderly people is often attributed to diminished afferent baroreflex sensitivity, but this has not been demonstrated. We examined the hypothesis that postural change in blood pressure is related to baroreflex sensitivity, independent of the confounding effect of baseline blood pressure. METHODS we studied 25 active, untreated elderly subjects free of post...

Baroreflex sensitivity inversely correlates with ambulatory blood pressure in healthy normotensive humans.

Patients with hypertension have a blunted sensitivity of baroreflex control of heart period. In these patients, baroreflex sensitivity is positively related to heart rate variability and inversely related to blood pressure variability. We hypothesized that this relationship would also be evident in healthy normotensive subjects and that individuals with higher baroreflex sensitivity would have ...

Title Blood pressure regulation in diabetics with and without peripheral neuropathy Authors

Cardiac and vascular dysfunctions resulting from autonomic neuropathy (AN) are complications of diabetes, often undiagnosed. Our objectives were to: 1) determine sympathetic and parasympathetic components of compromised blood pressure regulation in patients with peripheral neuropathy, and 2) rank noninvasive indexes for their sensitivity in diagnosing AN. We continuously measured ECG, arterial ...
